Character Survey WIP

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Kuro stands tall, with broad shoulders and some bulk to his muscles.

2. How old is he? Three answers: 25. 6. And 1. He is physically twenty five. As a Leap Year baby he has celebrated six birthdays. And as a unique personality/being he has only existed for about one year.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? Kuro is more physical, less stiff than Shiro. He leans, slinks, and slouches.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Kuro is missing his right arm about mid bicep, and has a Galran prosthetic. While physically healthy, his mental health is shaky at best. He is very fit, body well conditioned after his time with the Galra.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Kuro is graceful and fluid, visible in Shiro when he fights, no longer stiff or tense. He has a certain casual deliberateness to him, as though every move is both random and part of a greater plan at the same time. He moves like hunter, playing with its prey.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? Kuro is what would typically be described as handsome on Earth, though maybe not among the Galra. He is much happier to embrace his looks that Shiro, thinking himself quite attractive.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? He is much paler than when Shiro was first captured, due to being kept captive for a year. He bears many scars, though among the most obvious is the line across the bridge of his nose. His arm is also quite scarred at the amputation point, though that is usually hidden.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. Black, with a white forelock born of stress. He keeps the sides shaved close in an undercut. The floofy bit is likely the softest part.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? (Depending on verse) Yellow eyes, sharper teeth, and a clawed prosthetic.

11. What are his chief tension centers? Shoulders.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Dark colours. Either his slave outfit or a Galra jumpsuit. Alternately, whatever Shiro was wearing- meaning either the same dark clothes, or the Paladin outfit.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? The slave outfit fits well enough, though it isn't made for comfort. The other items are much more form fitting.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? Neither version has much in the way of free time or wardrobe to alter if he had it, so no.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Commando if he's in charge.



Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Like Shiro, it is an even mid tone, leaning to deep. Kuro's voice though is is often more lilted, more...emotional. He's more prone to growls, and purrs and other inhuman noises.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? He speaks easily, usually with a soft voice, though when mad he can just as easily switch.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Nothing of note.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? English. Japanese (this is personal head canon, not confirmed), Probably some Galran, but less fluently.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? He most commonly speaks English. There is little reason for him to speak anything else.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? Like Shiro, words seem to come naturally.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? He can be less eloquent than Shiro, often more lewd or vulgar in how he speaks.



Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? He is very intelligent, but Kuro does tend to lean more on his street-smarts.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? He thinks very well on his feet, bred in the arena he wouldn't have lasted long if he didn't.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Kuro is very practical. He does what needs to be done, no matter how bloody or repulsive it might seem. He is survival based. Pleasure based. He wants what he wants, and he'll have it.

4. What kind of education has the character had? As Shiro he was well educated and graduated from the Garrison as a top pilot and scientist. As Kuro he has been educated in fighting within the arena.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? He is a very skilled pilot. But among the Galra he is most well known for his skill in the arena. He is very curious by nature.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Mood swings. He is one big mood swing. Kuro can be sweet and cheerful, rage filled and snarling and switch in an instant. He is pure emotion.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Inwardly suspicious, outwardly relaxed in most situations.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? Act.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight? FIGHT

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Gallows humor for sure. Very dark.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? PTSD. A very fictional and magical form of Dissociative identity disorder. Kuro either deals with neither or is the result of these disorders.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? Being captured by the Galra. Literally.

14. What does he fear? ...

15. What are his hopes or aspirations? He'd like to possess Shiro in every way imaginable.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? He inherited the same feelings Shiro had for those he was closest to. It doesn't mean he won't hurt or kill them if they get between him and what he wants though.



Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. ...Shiro's relationship was good.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? I expect Shiro may have, given how easily he falls into the caregiver roll, though none we know of canonly. Kuro may consider Shiro something like a brother.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? Shiro. To both.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? ...No.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? ...What?

6. Does he have other close friends? Sendak?...No.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? He can chat very fondly, but very few people seem to respond or return his affection when he decides to give it.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? Neither.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? Single.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? No.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? ...

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? Feisty.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? No.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? Everyone could be considered an enemy.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? 4. Kuro isn't picky.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? Sex is fun. Shiro needs to indulge more.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? He's rough by default. Forceful.



Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? Pisces, (Monkey, Rat, or Dragon still undecided)

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? Not especially.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? He does what he needs to survive or enjoy himself.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Indifferent.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?



Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
